Much loved Yorkshire folk duo Belinda O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow were suddenly propelled into newfound fame for penning the theme tune for Sally Wainwright’s hit BBC1/HBO drama ‘Gentleman Jack’ in 2019, earning them global admiration, appearances on TV, Radio 4 Woman’s Hour and concerts that sold out months in advance.

The BBC drama is back for its 2nd Season and much to O’Hooley & Tidow fans’ annoyance,  just as the credits rolled and the closing theme tune started … a voice over declared ‘Gentleman Jack back next Sunday at nine,’  prompting the sound to be turned down!!

Fans took to social media shortly afterwards to vent their frustration with one writing: ‘Every time. What is the point of commissioning a fantastic theme song for #GentlemanJack when the @BBCOne continuity announcer talks all over it!’

it appears it even irked daytime television stalwart Lorraine Kelly,  who also took to Twitter to voice her disappointment!

Well, to add our halfpennyworth,  we are not impressed here at Spiral Towers either –  so in protest at the tune being muted,  we are going to feature it here, with all the words so you can sing along as well !!
