The Magpie Arc Release 22 Track Download Only Compilation Album

Nov 24, 2023

To celebrate a year in the Official UK Folk Chart with their first full length album “Glamour In the Grey” released last November, folk/rock supergroup (copyright Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2 Folkshow) which features Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr, Findlay Napier, Tom A. Wright and Alex Hunter have released a special-priced download compilation album of Glamour in the Grey and the three EP’s that the band released during the “you know what” lockdown years of 2020/21.

The Magpie Arc “Anthology” has a total of twenty two tracks and is available to download from Bandcamp* for the ridiculous price of £10  whilst the individual album and three EP CDs and vinyl are also available to buy on a special offer bundle via the bands web shop.

The band also have an eleven date tour round the UK lined up for early 2024 which includes their own one day festival at Cecil Sharp House in London on the 3rd of February and includes Tom Robinson, The Trials of Cato, The Rosie Hood Band, Janice Burns & Jon Doran and a very special interview session where Folk On Foot podcaster Matthew Bannister will be talking to UK music legends manager/producer Joe Boyd and producer/engineer John Wood (who is able to boast collaborations with Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, John Martyn, Nick Drake and The Incredible String Band to name but a few.  His association with Fairport Convention and it’s members also went on to help create the current UK folk/rock genre)

Our esteemed review team are quoted as saying “The possibilities The Magpie Arc offer are very enticing indeed. You owe it to yourself to catch this band as soon as you can. Capability, flair and originality rarely come so well wrapped.”

Don’t take our word for it though, they have an eleven date tour scheduled for the beginning of 2024, so you can check their ‘originality and flair’ out for yourselves?!
