Here’s the latest info and must know from those sterling types at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival, one of the must attends of the summer.
” With the festival fast approaching, we wanted to give you a heads up on a few new things and some pointers to make your festival experience a good one.
And if you don’t have your tickets, now is the time to book for the day or weekend! Tickets start from just £40.
Pedestrian area
For your safety, the area in front of The Reef, the shop and the Salopian Berwick Bar will be fully pedestrianised except for authorised vehicles.
Accessible parking
Parking for day visitors with Blue Badge and mobility issues has moved to a new area opposite the main vehicle entrance and exit. Stewards at gate 3 will direct you on arrival if you qualify to use it. For more accessibility information, click here.
Tent only camping
The area opposite The Reef is now a dedicated tent only camping area (no vehicles). You’ll be able to offload equipment and then move your car to the car park (free to weekend camping ticket holders).
Glamping
All glamping units are now sold out!
Chair crèche
If you’re a weekend visitor staying off site, we’ve introduced a ‘chair crèche’ so you can leave your seating overnight so you don’t have to carry it to and from your accommodation.
Drop your chair off at the Stewards Office (closes at midnight) and collect it the next day. £2 per chair per night, which will go to Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith. Chairs left at owners’ risk.
Shropshire Mental Health Support
We’re welcoming MHS Shropshire back to the festival this year. If you want support or to find out more about their work, they’ll be available daily near the main pedestrian gate from 12-9.
Fancy dress ceilidh – Saturday
Dance yourself dizzy on Saturday night with the disco-themed ceilidh, led by the gang from The Shropshire Bedlams and Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish. Search out your spandex, lob on your lycra and become a disco diva for the night!
Four stages and more than 100 hours of music! A weekend ticket is undoubtedly the best way to experience the spirit of Shrewsbury and everything we offer but day tickets are also available if you just fancy coming for one or two.
Find out who is on when here. And a quick reminder that Billy Bragg is performing on Sunday (not Friday as previously advertised). You can upgrade Friday tickets by getting in touch with customerservices@gigantic.com or 0115 807 7900.”
