Roving Crows Celebrate 10 Years with Extensive 2020 Tour Dates

Jan 20, 2020

Roving Crows have been carving out their niche in the UK folk music scene since early 2009.

For over ten years and with evolving incarnations,  the Roving Crows have cultivated an arresting, singular sound that pushes the boundaries of the Celtic Folk genre. The band play with genuine passion, energy and soul. Vital and vibrant, a must see live act who showcase a mix of fiery, Celtic-inspired fiddle, conscious, intelligent lyrics, backed by solid, thumping rhythms and driving, innovative bass.  Roving Crows comprises; strong lead vocals and 4 part harmonies, guitar, fiddle, drums and bass.

Formed in 2009 by Caitlin Barrett and Paul O’Neill, the band have created 3 albums; ‘Bacchanalia’ 2012, ‘Deliberate Distractions’ 2013 and the latest, ‘Bury Me Naked’ which was released in Spring 2017 to critical acclaim from across the world. The former two releases were produced by Nick Brine (Ash, Oasis, Bruce Springsteen, Seasick Steve) at Rockfield Studios and ‘Bury Me Naked’ was self-produced with former bass player with the band, Loz Shaw.

“Really individual Celtic folk rock group”  Mike Harding, BBC

They have wowed festival audiences from Cambridge and Trowbridge to Cheltenham Jazz Festival as well as numerous headline appearances in France & Ireland alongside an international tour in 2018 to Australia.  Winning many awards along the way including one of our Spiral Awards in 2014.

Having toured Australia last year after winning ‘International Artist of the year 2017’ in the Australian Celtic Music Awards and to introduce everyone to their new line up on drums and bass,  they are busy touring the UK and will be continuing to tour throughout next year in the UK and France, with another tour to Australia on the horizon

Fiddle player Caitlin says “We are celebrating the new line up and having powerful gigs. We will be recording an EP so people can get a taste of the ‘new’ sound of the Crows, which is lively and passionate; the new songs being penned are full of social comment and observations, taking on injustice and societal imbalance “
