Levellers rework some of their classics in new album

Feb 22, 2023

The Levellers release a new album Together All The Way on 10th March and are heading out on an acoustic tour from late February to mid March. The album reworks some of their earlier work along with two new tracks Man O’ War and Sitting In The Social.

together all the way

The album was recorded at their studio in Brighton, The Metway, with Sean Lakeman producing and Al Scott mixing, both of whom have been working with the Levellers for many years. The recording also features Hannah Moule and Ollie Austin from the Moulettes on cello, vocals and percussion, and this album marks the debut of Dan Donnelly on his first official Levellers recording.

There is a single out, Down By The River ‘O’, the video is below. This track was written by Rev Hammer and first recorded by him with the Levellers in 1991. If you are a Levellers fan you’ll be wondering where the hell those three decades went, it seems just a few summers ago that Rev and the Levellers were the vanguard in a counter-culture that that rebelled and rejected the warped values of society and the elites that propelled it.

Well, we still have a grotesque and greedy ‘elite’ pulling the strings. Thank the gods we still have the Levellers.
