Jackie Oates Announces Summer Tour Dates

May 19, 2025

Winner of two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and treasure of English contemporary folk, Jackie Oates is a singer, fiddler and songwriter well known and loved for her exquisite vocals and expressive fiddle style.  Her heartfelt and beautiful live performances enthral and inspire.

Highly skilled at breathing new life into the traditional gems she unearths, Jackie’s affecting music includes folk songs and tunes as well as her own songs that so eloquently get to the very heart of human experiences.

She loves to throw in the occasional unexpected cover; for example her lovely take on The Longpigs’ On and On was an album highlight with The Guardian reviewer, and her version of The Cure’s Untitled was played on Iggy Pop’s Confidential Show on BBC Radio 6.

In 2022, Jackie’s 8th solo studio album, Gracious Wings, received glowing reviews and widespread acclaim throughout the folk press.

‘One of folk’s brightest talents….Her lovely take on The Longpigs’ On and On should get the John Lewis Xmas ad team on the phone pronto’  – Guardian

Through her diverse commissions and collaborations, Jackie seeks out new and surprising artistic corners to illuminate with her voice and musicianship.
