Yorkshire folk singer Jack Rutter has established himself as one of the standout voices of the folk, roots and acoustic music scene in recent years. A hugely engaging stage presence, his soaring vocal, powerhouse guitar and bouzouki playing and masterful arrangements of traditional songs and contemporary covers have enthralled audiences from the largest festival main stages to the most intimate folk clubs. Following on from his critically acclaimed second album Gold of Scar & Shale, 2022 sees the release of a brand new EP, with 2023 bringing the successor to Gold of Scar & Shale in the form of a new album of his favourite covers.
‘A voice as rich and beautiful as his native Yorkshire.’ – English Folk Expo
Jack says ” In my live show I love to include a few covers in the course of the set, these are a combination of well known and more obscure songs that I’ve known and loved for a while. After having been asked a fair few times by audience members after shows if I’ve recorded any of these songs – I’ve decided to do just that.
I did warn you ?!
He’s recently been seen in Sam Sweeney’s Band supporting Bellowhead, and has been known to hang out with Eliza Carthy every now and again so it will be exciting to watch out for him touring this solo EP..
