Edgelarks Final Tour as duo before taking a Break

Edgelarks – BBC Folk Award winning duo Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin – are setting out on a final tour before taking a break from the road.

The arrival of their daughter Rosa Kit combined with the pandemic completely changed the landscape of their lives, so the pair have announced that they won’t be touring for the next couple of years. They are going to have one last stint on the road however and those lucky enough to catch them before their well earned break, can be guaranteed some old favourites as well as a few new songs to tease you before they take a step back. Their show promises to uplift and inspire, with its unique blend of traditional roots, world influences, and original songwriting. Two voices meld with virtuoso dobro, fiddle, banjo, and show stopping beatbox harmonica, to create a sound like no other.

Hannah says, “We are thoroughly enjoying life as parents, and we are also excited to be involved with several projects at the moment. Between the Gigspanner Big Band and my new duo with Miranda Sykes, there just isn’t very much time left in the diary! Something had to give, and for the moment, that means no Edgelarks tours. We will still make music together, and we have plans to keep our wonderful community of subscribers entertained !! There will be the odd online concert, and perhaps festival appearance. We would love it if people kept in touch – we’ll still be on social media and they can join our mailing list to find out about anything we are doing. But our priorities have shifted and so you’ll find us at baby groups rather than gig venues for the foreseeable!”

Any parents out there can’t blame these hard working musicians for getting a break wherever they can ?!
