February and March bring a departure from the norm for critically acclaimed folk duo O’Hooley & Tidow. Following the release of their eighth studio album Cloudheads (See Simon Jones’ Review of the album here: spiralearth.co.uk/cloudheads-o-hooley-tidow), you would imagine they would be heading out early 2024 on a duo tour across the UK. The couple have a little boy and they have made the decision for Belinda to perform solo for the first part of the year instead.
Belinda told us “It’s really difficult managing a music career that involves time away performing, alongside a beautiful little boy who needs a lot of routine and time with his mummies at home, to feel safe and secure. We are very aware of the impact touring has on our family life and want to try something a bit different for a while. I’m really excited to be doing a solo tour, knowing Heidi is with our son. I’ll be performing songs and music from my solo album Inversions and also the O&T back catalogue. It will be a bit weird singing without the missus, and her presence will be very much missed by me and everyone else I’m sure. However, I can also explore and improvise the music a bit more on my own, and I’m excited to see what will happen.”
Well so are we !!
