A One Band Americana Festival.

Jun 25, 2024

Following the release of acclaimed double album, The Alders & The Ashes earlier this year, Canadian folk/country/roots collective, The Hello Darlins have announced live dates in the UK and Europe this summer. The tour will kick off on August 21-24 in The Netherlands at Tonder Festival before they travel to the UK for Shrewsbury Folk Festival and a show at the legendary Green Note in London. The band will then return to mainland Europe for further shows in The Netherlands and Germany.

August 21st – 24th Tonder Festival, The Netherlands. August 26th  Shrewsbury Folk Festival,

August 29th The Green Note, London.  Tickets via:

Led by Romani-Canadian musician Candace Lacina and world-renowned keyboardist Mike Little, The Hello Darlins are some of Canada’s most in-demand professional session and touring musicians who came together to forge a distinct hybrid of country, gospel and blues. Known for their flawless group harmonies and often compared to stalwarts like The Eagles, The Carter Family and The Band, their live shows captivate audiences wherever they go.

After their debut international performance at UK Americana Music Week in 2023, the band has been keen to get back across the pond. The tour will be an opportunity for their UK fans to hear some of the songs from their latest album, ‘The Alders & The Ashes,’ which discusses themes of life and love, change and growth. The album has garnered rave reviews with veteran country music writer Alan Cackett saying: “This 17-song record stuns with radiating harmonies and toe-tapping instrumentation.” Meanwhile, Americana UK said: “Their technical proficiency is quite staggering.”

‘The Alders & The Ashes’  was recorded at L.A.’s famed United Recording Studios with multi-Grammy winning engineer Ross Hogarth (John Mellencamp, Edgar Winter, Joe Bonamassa, Jewel), and contributions from bassist Bob Glaub (Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty) and drummer Chad Cromwell (Neil Young, Brian Wilson, Dolly Parton) alongside core creative member guitarist/co-producer Murray Pulver. The Hello Darlins were also fortunate to partner for a second time on mixes with Grammy Award winner Mike Poole (Robert Plant, Patti Griffin, Alabama, Dolly Parton, Buddy & Julie Miller).

With millions of streams and three Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations, The Hello Darlins took to the road for 187 days in 2023, showing that the band sounds just as powerful on stage as it does in the studio. As individuals, the members of The Hello Darlins are known for backing some of the biggest names in music (BB King, Shania Twain, Rodney Crowell), and as a band they have paid their dues playing live in other configurations.
